What’s New In Synoptix 11

1. A New Launch Page Experience

Synoptix 11 introduces a redesigned Launch Page that acts as the central hub for users when they log in.

New Launch Page capabilities include:

  • a `Create New` entry point at the top of the page
  • a list of the ten most recently run reports for quick re-entry into common work
  • six customizable Quick Links for frequently used reports, dashboards, budgets, or other areas
  • personalized widgets that surface KPIs, charts, graphs, and summaries directly on the home screen

This new Launch Page provides a more personalized, task-oriented starting point for day-to-day work.

2. Role-Based Personalization

Synoptix 11 introduces user-role-based interface tailoring. Menus and visible options can change depending on the user’s responsibilities, such as report viewing, budget management, executive use, or other configured roles.

This means:

  • users may see different menu items depending on their role
  • some users may not see the full left-hand navigation at all
  • the software can remove tools and menus that are not relevant to a given user

The result is a cleaner workspace and a more focused experience for each user group.

3. Streamlined Navigation

Synoptix 11 reorganizes navigation into a persistent left-hand navigation bar and a top navigation bar.

The left-hand navigation includes access to:

  • Home via the Synoptix logo
  • Create New
  • Favorites
  • Reporting
  • Scheduler
  • Dashboard Designer
  • Budgeting and forecasting areas
  • Widget Designer

The top navigation adds quick access to:

  • Universal search
  • Synoptix Intelligence
  • Conversations
  • Export
  • Profile Menu

This layout reduces the need to dig through layered menus and helps users move between major product areas more quickly.

4. Improved Access To Reports And Workspaces

Synoptix 11 reorganizes navigation into a p

  • recently run reports shown on the Launch Page
  • Favorites for quick access to recent and starred content
  • Create New modal for starting new workspaces and report-related items
  • a more direct Reporting area for finding, filtering, previewing, and opening reports

Together, these changes support a faster start to common reporting tasks and reduce friction around routine navigation.

5. Widget-Driven Home Screen Personalization

Widgets are a major part of the Synoptix 11 experience. Users can create widgets and surface them directly on the Launch Page for at-a-glance access to the information that matters most. In practice, this turns the Synoptix home page into a more personalized dashboard where important KPIs, charts, graphs, and other key information are visible immediately after login.

Widget-related enhancements include:

  • a dedicated Widget Designer
  • support for configurable widget layouts and types
  • the ability to connect widgets to report outputs
  • chart type selection during widget setup
  • flexible date settings
  • support for scheduled widget refreshes
  • the ability to place widgets directly onto the Launch Page

This makes the Launch Page more than a landing screen; it becomes a live operational dashboard.

6. New Widget Functionality

Synoptix 11 introduces widgets as a new way for users to surface key metrics and visualizations directly on the Launch Page. Creating widgets includes the ability to:

  • selecting a widget type
  • naming the widget
  • choosing the source report
  • selecting a chart type
  • choosing the run date
  • optionally scheduling refresh behavior
  • saving the widget and placing it on the Launch Page

This adds an entirely new layer of personalization to Synoptix and gives users a new way to bring important information to the surface immediately after login.

7. Budgeting And Forecasting Access Improvements

Budgeting and forecasting workflows are now easier to access through the primary navigation experience.

Users can access budgeting-related areas such as:

  • Budget Overview
  • budget templates by year and version
  • Position Management
  • Final Approval
  • What-If Scenarios

The release positions these features as part of the main navigation model rather than buried secondary functionality.

8. Built-In Productivity Tools In The Top Bar

The top navigation bar brings several high-value tools into a more visible, accessible location.

These include:

  • Search for quickly finding reports, dashboards, or other items
  • Synoptix Intelligence for AI-powered insights on select reports
  • Conversations for discussions connected to reports
  • Export for saving reports in multiple formats
  • Profile Menu options for user preferences, password changes, support, and logout

This puts high-frequency actions closer to the user at all times.

9. A New Learning Center And In-Product Guidance

Synoptix 11 introduces a new Learning Center designed to make training and self-service support easier to access. Users can browse Learning Center content directly at Synoptix Learning Center.

The release also adds linked in-product tooltips that direct users to the related Learning Center article for the area of the software they are using.

This gives users:

  • faster access to feature-specific documentation
  • direct paths from the software interface to relevant help content
  • an easier way to learn new workflows while navigating Synoptix 11

Together, the Learning Center and linked tooltips make guidance more contextual and easier to discover at the moment it is needed.

10. Expanded Profile And Support Menu Access

Synoptix 11 gives more visibility to user-level account and support actions through the Profile Menu in the top-right corner of the interface.

From this menu, users can access common actions such as:

  • viewing and managing personal profile options
  • changing passwords
  • opening help and support resources
  • logging out of the application

A dedicated help and support menu is available from this area, making it easier for users to find assistance without leaving their main workflow.

This helps centralize account management and support-related actions in a predictable, easy-to-find location.

Summary ----

Synoptix 11 delivers a major user experience refresh designed to help teams get to insights faster. With a new Launch Page, personalized navigation, integrated widgets, easier access to budgeting and AI-powered tools, a new Learning Center with linked in-product guidance, and more visible profile and support controls, the release focuses on making the software more intuitive, more flexible, and more aligned to the way each user actually works.
